Superb Epidote from
This is a superb Old Stock display of Epidote elongated crystals that came from Capelinha, in the Jequitinhonha
valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This specimen is from our personal collection.
Epidote is an outstanding display mineral. The most desirable form of this mineral is one with the elongated
crystals. These crystals may be transparent to nearly opaque and can be extremely lustrous and often
interconnected. This form is highly regarded by collectors and creates one of the finest mineral showpieces.
The color of Epidote is almost always a shade of green, with a pistachio color tint being very common. The range of
color may vary from light to dark-green, olive-green, yellowish-green, brownish-green, brown, or even black.
Excellent specimens of this mineral are very difficult to find.
