This is a very nice specimen of Almandine Garnet in Chlorite Mica Schist matrix from the Little Pine Garnet Mine in Madison County, North Carolina.

Specimen weighs 1.48 oz (42g) and measures roughly 1.7 x 1 x 0.93 inches (4.3 x 2.7 x 2.3 cm) and the Garnet Crystal measures about 1.17 x 1.12 inches (2.9 x 2.8 cm)
