We picked up some beautiful specimens from the May 2026 Rock Gem and Mineral Shows in Franklin, NC. including  Dioptase, Malachite, Malachite and Chrysocolla, High Quality Grade Copper Ore Slabs, Drift and Float copper nuggets, Butchite, Some stunning Grape Agate specimens, medium, large and even some stunning Premium Bismuth Crystals, Rainbow Obsidian, Gold Sheen Obsidian, Vanadinite from Morocco, and a couple of new find thick slabs from China that we are told is named "Sphalorite". They kind of look like angle plated quartz but with nice drusy quartz trim. We are measuring and photographing these items as we speak.

We just finished adding our new shipment of Way Too Cool UV flashlights for displaying the brilliant colors in our fluorescent rocks. We have also added more fluorescent rocks from Canada, Arizona and New Jersey. Check out our Boulder Opal from Queensland, Australia (from the well known E&L Roth Collection) and our Thomsonite specimens from a very historic place from 1968 on our new Thomsonite Page (found on our Minerals List).

OUR NEWEST ADDITION ... Boxwork Fluorite ... We found some extremely rare old stock specimens we got from the collection of a geologist ... These Rare Collector Pieces are one of a kind old stock. We have a total of ten specimens. These are first we have ever seen and when they are gone that will be the end of them. They will no longer be available at these extremely reasonable prices for such a precious and rare find.

Welcome to our woo commerce site. We are currently working on adding many new items we found at this year's Rock and Mineral Shows.  We will also be adding several new catagories including fossils, petrified wood and even a large section of Sterling Silver jewelry. You are now able to pay with Stripe, Apple Pay, PayPal or Checks when you checkout. We do not take credit cards over the phone. We are also working on adding many new countries to our shipping capability.

We ship weekdays Monday through Friday. Your order will normally ship within two weekdays after we receive your order.

Guide to SpiritRock Shop Mineral Sizes

(MM) Micro mineral - a small (typically less than 1") piece of matrix with micro crystals unmounted. The term "micro mineral" depends more on the size of the crystals or specific mineral than it does on the size of the matrix. Requires magnification to identify or evaluate.

(GSD) Gemstone / Cabochon Display – for faceted gemstones or small cabochons that fit in a round clear display box with internal dimensions of 24 x 9 mm (0.95 x 0.35 inches) in diameter and depth.

(MT) Micro mount - a mounted micro specimen, usually in a standard "micro mount" size box (Dimensions: 1.0" x 1.0" x 0.75" (2.54 cm x 2.54 cm x 1.90 cm). The matrix, where present, is typically 3/8 inch or less in maximum dimension. Some micro mounts may consist of a single crystal mounted with no matrix.

(TN) Thumbnail - fits in a standard “Perky" box dimensions 1.25" x 1.25" x 1.25" (3 cm cube).

(SC) Small cabinet - 1.25 to 4 inches (3 to 10 cm) across maximum dimensions.

(LC) Large Cabinet – 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) across maximum dimension.

(MUSEUM) Museum (or Extra-Large Cabinet)- more than 6 inches (15 cm) across maximum dimension. These extra-large specimens are commonly referred to as museum…not to designate quality, but only to designate size. XL or XLS cannot be used as XL / XLS are the mining abbreviations for crystal / crystals

These size classifications are not universal. Different mineral dealers may have slightly different dimension standards for what they consider to be miniature, small cabinet, large cabinet and museum or extra-large cabinet. The dimensions for Thumbnail and Micro mount sized minerals are fairly standard because the standard display boxes limit their size.

Below is a useful conversion chart that lets you convert mm to decimal to fractions of an inch so you can have a better understanding of the actual sizes in terms you can relate to.

Items listed as "Reserved" are not available for purchase. Once we receive your e-mail requesting to purchase with delivery outside the USA, your item(s) will be marked "Reserved". Payment is expected within 10 days on reserved items. Items not paid for within the 10 day period will be pulled from "reserved status" and will be re-listed as available for sale.

Note: Orders paid by personal check will not ship until payment clears your bank.

Prices shown for shipping within the USA are for Insured Priority Mail unless otherwise specified in description as UPS Ground.

We are sorry we no longer ship to locations outside the USA. We have had too many shipments lost, destroyed or damaged waiting 4 to 6 months for International delivery. Many times due to unpaid customs and taxes.

We do not charge any VAT Taxes on your orders. We rarely ship to International collectors therefore we do not have or need a VAT Tax number. Any taxes or customs fees due to Canadian Shipments are the responsibility of the purchaser.
