Unique White Skin Agate Hollow Display Nodule

Cut and Polished in our Work Shop!

This Brazilian agate was cut and polished in our shop in Las Vegas in 2004. The other half was sold shortly thereafter. We kept this in our collection for many years due to how unique this type of Agate is. When we cut it open the center was full of mud and mineral granules that had not yet solidified. As Agates go, this is a very young one. This one has a large open vug center framed in a thick clear to brown Chalcedony layer with a white skin rind. This Agate is very interesting…Chris calls this her cave. The bottom of the vug is flat with a drain chase and the top of the vug is a shallow botryoidal formation with a 0.35″ (9mm) diameter hole in the top…Chris’s vent for the heating fires in her cave rock. This agate nodule weighs 14 oz or 0.87 lb (398g) and measures 4 x 2.5 x 2.1″ (10.2 x 6.5 x 5.4cm)
