This is a top quality Celestine (Celestite) crystal plate from Madagascar.
The large well-defined crystals have a lustrous, icy light blue coloration. This famous Madagascar locality was discovered in 1967. It is located near the village of Sakoany, on the western side of the banks of the Betsiboka River. We procured this specimen from a South African Mineral Dealer in 2024.
This piece weighs 27.4 oz or 1.71 lbs (778g) and measures 4.7 x 3.8 x 2.2 inches (12.1 x 9.7 x 5.7cm)
