This is a top quality Celestine (Celestite) geode from Madagascar. The large well-defined crystals have a lustrous, icy light blue coloration. This famous Madagascar locality was discovered in 1967. It is located near the village of Sakoany, on the western side of the banks of the Betsiboka River. We procured this specimen in 2004 from a South African Mineral Dealer and it is from our personal collection.
This piece weighs 53.3 oz or 3.35 lbs (1.512kg) and measures 5 x 4.4 x 4 inches (12.8 x 11.2 x 10.3cm)
