Description
This is an amazing blue/green small to medium cabinet sized specimen of green Hyalite Opal on a white Feldspar and Mica matrix from the famous Chalk Mountain Mine in Mitchell County, North Carolina. This specimen is from a 1950’s collection and comes with a 5 x 7 card from the original collector with still some legible writing on it. These specimens of Hyalite opal from here are stunningly bright and beautiful. This is an amazingly unique specimen that explodes in color under SW, MW and LW Ultra-Violet light! Fluorescent Photos taken under a Way Too Cool Triple Wave 254/312/368 nm SW/MW/LW 9-Watt Lamp in a blackout box. The brightest glow is SW reducing in brightness under MW to it’s LW where the crystals are more definable.
