Fluorescent Fluorite and Galena

This specimen is old stock (1950’s collection) from the Northern Illinois Galena Mines. The lavender to clear cubic fluorite in matrix fluoresces mild purple in SW and strong in MW and LW (shows best with MW and LW together). The Galena is non-fluorescent. Fluorescent Photos taken under a Way Too Cool Triple Wave 254/312/368 nm SW/MW/LW 9-Watt Lamp in a blackout box. This rare specimen is from our personal collection.
