Fluorescent NJ 14 Apple Green Willemite Hardystonite and Andradite Garnet from the Franklin Mine

Strongly fluorescent “apple green Willemite” with Hardystonite and Andradite Garnet from the Franklin Mine in Franklin, New Jersey .The Willemite is a very bright fluorescent green in SW/MW/LW UV light. Willemite overpowers the blue violet Hardystonite in SW. The Hardystonite is best photographed in MWUV where the Willemite is less bright. Hardystonite is normally not visible to the naked eye but pops a pretty blue in the photos. It is very rare to find a specimen of apple green Willemite that also has Hardystonite. This piece also has Andradite Garnet which is brown and non-fluorescent and minor Franklinite which is also non fluorescent. This specimen makes a nice daylight as well as a stunning fluorescent presentation. Photos were taken in a blackout box with a Nikon CoolPix L-1 under a “Way Too Cool” triple wave 254/368/312 nm (SW/MW/LW) 9-Watt Lamp. Own a Classic!
