Rare Barite XLS in Calcite from the Franklin Mine
This is a rare specimen of Barite Crystals splattered in Calcite This is from the H. Pate collection. This specimen was procured by him in 1959 in Franklin, New Jersey. This unique specimen explodes in color under SW Ultra-Violet light and to a lesser brilliance under MW Ultra-Violet light. The Barite fluoresces a creamy white against the orange Calcite under SWUV while the Barite appears more of a yellowish cream under MWUV. This is a most unusual specimen from Franklin.
