Here’s an excellent display specimen of 1 blood red Pyrope Garnet in a light green to silver green very thin (up to 2.3 mm) book of Muscovite. It is from a 1950’s collection from the Deer Park Mine, Penland, Spruce Pine Mining District, Mitchell County, N.C.

This specimen weighs 5g and measures 2.4 x 1.7 inches (6.1 x 4.5 cm)
