Here’s an excellent display specimen of one Almandine Garnet in a light green to silver green book of Muscovite with minor quartz on the edge. It is from a 1950’s collection from the Deer Park Mine, Penland, Spruce Pine Mining District, Mitchell County, N.C.

This specimen weighs 15g and measures 2.9 x 1.9 x 0.19 inches (73 x 48 x 4.1 mm)
