Description
Float and Drift Copper is found throughout the “Copper Country” of Michigan. Glacial movements thousands of years ago altered the geologic deposits of the native copper by tearing and scouring the land. Copper along with other rocks, gravel and sand were constantly tumbled and deposited over large areas of the Upper Midwestern United States.
This specimen came from a Michigan Copper Minerals dealer at the May 2026 Franklin, NC Show. It has natural dark oxidation colors that provide a brilliant contrast to the polished copper sections. These are excellent specimens of both glacial float and drift collector specimens from the upper peninsula of Michigan! This beautiful piece has been fully polished on all but the back side…WoW!
