Description
Here’s an excellent Old Stock Polished Face Nodule of Opal and Feldspar conglomerate we procured from a Brazilian Mineral dealer in 2004. We cut several slabs (listed below on this page) which we are selling as rough cut lapidary material. This specimen was flat cut on bottom for display and had the face cut polished in our shop. There are what appear to be natural fractures in the face, but the slabs cut from this stone are very stable and solid. This rare stone has been sold by jewelers as Blue Liberite and Que Sera Stone. It is mainly sold by opal dealers.
This specimen weighs 61.6 oz or 3.85 lbs (1748g) and measures 6.3 x 3.6 x 3.3 inches (16.1 x 9.3 x 8.4cm)
This specimen can be a nice large cabinet display or it can be cut into many more slabs for making lapidary cabochons. This unique stone is made up of a conglomeration of minerals, primarily Opal and Feldspar. This stone is found only in Brazil and is a mixture of different types of stone, including Quartz, Calcite, Kaolinite, Iron oxides, Magnetite, Clinozoisite and Leucozene.
