A very deep red, almost black color. Under direct lighting, hints of red may be seen on this Old Stock specimen of Acicular Heubnerite on Quartz matrix from Silverton, Colorado. This specimen is glued down to Styrofoam in a 2 x 2 x 1-1/4 inch (51 x 51 x 32mm) plastic display box. This was typical mounting in the 1970’s. Specimens like this are very difficult to find. Weight included the display case and the mineral together.
