Fluorescent NJ 14 Wollastonite on Calcite

Description

This is a very good specimen of Wollastonite on Calcite from the Nobel Pit in the Sterling Hill Mine in Ogdensburg, New Jersey. The Wollastonite fluoresces a golden yellow and the Calcite fluoresces a maroon red under SWUV lighting.  Photos were taken in a blackout box with a Nikon CoolPix L-1 under a Way Too Cool 254 nm SW 9-Watt Lamp. Specimen weighs 41.1oz or 2.57 lbs (1.166 kg) and measures 6.6 x 4.7 x 2.8 inches (16.7 x 11.9 x 7.2 cm)
