Here’s an excellent display specimen of a single blood red Pyrope Garnet in a light green to silver green very thin (1mm) book of Muscovite. It is from a 1950’s collection from the Deer Park Mine, Penland, Spruce Pine Mining District, Mitchell County, N.C.

This specimen weighs 2g and measures 2.3 x 1.6 inches (6 x 4.1 cm)
