Here’s an excellent polished free form specimen of Deschutes Jasper that we obtained from Wally Marks of the Highway 50&95 rock shop in 1997. He obtained this directly from Hoot Elkins at Elkins Gem Stones in Prineville, Oregon in 1977 and this piece was in Wally’s personal collection until he sold it to us. For those of you who do not know who Hoot Elkins was, the discovery of this picturesque Jasper is attributed to him sometime in the 1960’s. This is a true classic specimen from a classic locale!
This specimen weighs 5.9 oz or 0.37 lbs (169g) and measures 3.5 x 2.2 x 1.39 inches (8.9 x 5.6 x 3.5cm)
