Mount Brockman Marra Mamba Tiger Iron Slab
$69.00
This slab is a fine specimen of the rare marra mamba tiger iron. Mined only from the crocidolite seams of the Hamersley Range in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, it displays far thicker and more complex bands of golden chatoyant tiger's eye, red jasper and shimmering black hematite than the more common version of tiger's eye. It is also streaked and patched with areas of blue, gray and green. The resulting stone, when sliced and polished, looks like abstract art, the colors combining and flowing into one another like unmixed oil paint, distinct but intertwined. This specimen is not polished.
This specimen measures 5.5 x 4.9 x 0.24 inches (139 x 125 x 6.3mm) and weighs 10.1 oz or 0.63 lbs (289g)
