Description

This is an awe-inspiring specimen of Cube pyrite cluster with very nice black Sphalerite formations. Sphalerite is a mineral and ore of zinc. When the iron content is high, sphalerite forms an opaque black variety called Marmatite. This specimen was from Rock Currier’s Jewel Tunnel Inc store in Arcadia CA. It came to us from a 1970’s and 1980’s collection we were able to find at a rock show. This piece is from the Huanzala Mine, Haullanca, Bologesi, Ancash, Peru. It is mounted with mineral tack on an acrylic base that is 1 inch square and ½ inch thick with chamfered edges. This is an exceptional and rare display and will come with a small amount of extra mineral tack in case you wish to change specimen mounting positions.

This piece weighs 1.48 oz or 0.09 lb (42g) and measures 1.4 x 1.3 x 0.8 inches (3.5 x 3.2 x 2 cm)

[Shipping weight with acrylic base is 2.2 oz and dimensions are 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches plus packing materials]
