Fluorescent Hardystonite with Calcite, Franklinite and Willemite from the Franklin Mine in New Jersey. The blue-purple Hardystonite is centered between a very bright fluorescent green Willemite on one side and an orange Calcite and black Franklinite mix on the other side. Hardystonite is normally not visible to the naked eye but pops a pretty blue in the photos under SW Ultra Violet light. This specimen makes a stunning fluorescent presentation. Daylight photos were taken in natural light outdoors. Fluorescent photos were taken in a blackout box with a Nikon CoolPix L-1 under a “Way Too Cool” 254 nm (SW) 9-Watt Lamp.
