Natural Smoky Quartz Crystal Section from Hiddenite, NC

This is a rare smoky quartz crystal section from Hiddenite, Mitchell County, North Carolina. This specimen has mica embedded in the crystal as well as red hard clay that Hiddenite is famous for. There are also 3 depressions from other smaller crystals that were penetrating into this quartz. This piece was procured from a mineral dealer at the 2016 Grassy Creek Gem and Mineral Show in Spruce Pine, NC
